The NSX’s pre-crash front seatbelts will tighten automatically in the event the vehicle detects an impending crash, improving protection against injury significantly. The DB11 doesn’t offer pre-crash pretensioners.

The NSX has all-wheel drive to maximize traction under poor conditions, especially in ice and snow. The DB11 doesn’t offer all-wheel drive.

The NSX has standard AcuraLink, which uses a global positioning satellite (GPS) receiver and a cellular system to remotely unlock your doors if you lock your keys in, help track down your vehicle if it’s stolen or send emergency personnel to the scene if any airbags deploy. The DB11 doesn’t offer a GPS response system, only a navigation computer with no live response for emergencies, so if you’re involved in an accident and you’re incapacitated help may not come as quickly.

Both the NSX and the DB11 have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, driver knee airbags, side-impact head airbags, front seatbelt pretensioners, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, daytime running lights and rearview cameras.

The NSX comes with a full 4-year/50,000-mile basic warranty, which covers the entire car and includes 24-hour roadside assistance. The DB11’s 3-year basic warranty expires 1 year sooner.

Acura’s powertrain warranty covers the NSX 3 years longer than Aston Martin covers the DB11. Any repair needed on the engine, transmission, axles, joints or driveshafts is fully covered for 6 years or 70,000 miles. Coverage on the DB11 ends after only 3 years.

There are almost 8 times as many Acura dealers as there are Aston Martin dealers, which makes it much easier should you ever need service under the NSX’s warranty.

The NSX’s 3.5 turbo V6 hybrid produces 97 more horsepower (600 vs. 503) than the DB11 V8’s standard 4.0 turbo V8.

Regenerative brakes improve the NSX’s fuel efficiency by converting inertia back into energy instead of wasting it. The DB11 doesn’t offer a regenerative braking system.

The NSX has a standard cap-less fueling system. The fuel filler is automatically opened when the fuel nozzle is inserted and automatically closed when it’s removed. This eliminates the need to unscrew and replace the cap and it reduces fuel evaporation, which causes pollution. The DB11 doesn’t offer a cap-less fueling system.

A nine-speed automatic (SMG) is standard on the Acura NSX, for better acceleration and lower engine speed on the highway. Only an eight-speed automatic is available for the DB11.

The NSX offers a standard sequential manual gearbox (SMG). With no clutch pedal to worry about and a fully automatic mode, an SMG is much more efficient than a conventional automatic but just as easy to drive. The DB11 doesn’t offer an SMG or a conventional manual transmission.

All wheel drive, available in the NSX, provides the best traction for acceleration in wet, dry, and icy conditions. In corners, all wheel drive allows both outside wheels to provide power, balancing the car. This allows for better handling. The Aston Martin DB11 is not available with all wheel drive.

The NSX offers optional heat-treated ceramic brake rotors, which last ten to twenty times as long as conventional cast iron rotors, don’t rust, don’t fade during repeated high speed braking, and their lighter weight contribute to better braking, handling and acceleration. The DB11 doesn’t offer ceramic brake rotors.

For better traction and acceleration, the NSX has larger rear tires than the DB11 (305/30R20 vs. 295/35R20).

The NSX’s 245/35R19 front and 305/30R20 rear tires provide better handling because they have a lower 35 series front and 30 series rear profile (height to width ratio) that provides a stiffer sidewall than the DB11’s standard 40 series front and 35 series rear tires.

The NSX has a standard easy tire fill system. When inflating the tires, the vehicle’s integrated tire pressure sensors keep track of the pressure as the tires fill and tell the driver when the tires are inflated to the proper pressure. The DB11 doesn’t offer vehicle monitored tire inflation.

The NSX is 8.5 inches shorter than the DB11, making the NSX easier to handle, maneuver and park in tight spaces.

The NSX uses computer-generated active noise cancellation to help remove annoying noise and vibration from the passenger compartment, especially at low frequencies. The DB11 doesn’t offer active noise cancellation.

With its coupe body style and remote trunk release lockout, the NSX offers cargo security. The DB11’s non-lockable remote release defeats cargo security.

A standard locking glovebox keeps your small valuables safer in the NSX. The DB11 doesn’t offer locking storage for small valuables.

The NSX’s standard power windows have a locking feature to keep children from operating them. Aston Martin does not offer a locking feature on the DB11’s standard power windows.

The NSX’s power lock, power mirror and cruise control switches are lit from behind, making them plainly visible and easier to operate at night. The DB11’s cruise control switches are unlit, making them difficult to find at night and operate safely.

While driving with high beams on, sensitive light sensors standard on the NSX detect other vehicles which could be blinded and automatically switch to low beams. The DB11 doesn’t offer automatic dimming high beams.

The NSX was chosen as one of Automobile Magazine’s “All Stars” in 2017. The DB11 has never been an “All Star.”
