The NSX’s pre-crash front seatbelts will tighten automatically in the event the vehicle detects an impending crash, improving protection against injury significantly. The Huracán doesn’t offer pre-crash pretensioners.

To provide maximum traction and stability on all roads, All-Wheel Drive is standard on the NSX. But it costs extra on the Huracán.

The NSX’s blind spot mirrors use wide-angle convex mirrors mounted in the corner of each side view mirror to reveal objects that may be in the driver’s blind spots. The Huracán doesn’t offer a system to reveal objects in the driver’s blind spots.

The NSX has standard AcuraLink, which uses a global positioning satellite (GPS) receiver and a cellular system to remotely unlock your doors if you lock your keys in, help track down your vehicle if it’s stolen or send emergency personnel to the scene if any airbags deploy. The Huracán doesn’t offer a GPS response system, only a navigation computer with no live response for emergencies, so if you’re involved in an accident and you’re incapacitated help may not come as quickly.

Both the NSX and the Huracán have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, driver knee airbags, side-impact head airbags, front seatbelt pretensioners, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, daytime running lights and rearview cameras.

The Acura NSX weighs 478 to 744 pounds more than the Lamborghini Huracán. The NHTSA advises that heavier cars are much safer in collisions than their significantly lighter counterparts.

There are over 7 times as many Acura dealers as there are Lamborghini dealers, which makes it much easier should you ever need service under the NSX’s warranty.

The Huracán’s redline is at 8500 to 8700 RPM, which causes more engine wear, and a greater chance of a catastrophic engine failure. The NSX has a 7500 RPM redline.

The NSX’s 3.5 turbo V6 hybrid produces 79 lbs.-ft. more torque (492 vs. 413) than the Huracán Evo’s standard 5.2 DOHC V10. The NSX’s 3.5 turbo V6 hybrid produces 49 lbs.-ft. more torque (492 vs. 443) than the Huracán Evo’s optional 5.2 DOHC V10.

Regenerative brakes improve the NSX’s fuel efficiency by converting inertia back into energy instead of wasting it. The Huracán doesn’t offer a regenerative braking system.

In its Green Vehicle Guide, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) rates the Acura NSX higher (3 out of 10) than the Lamborghini Huracán (1). This means the NSX produces up to 22.5 pounds less smog-producing pollutants than the Huracán every 15,000 miles.

A nine-speed automatic (SMG) is standard on the Acura NSX, for better acceleration and lower engine speed on the highway. Only a seven-speed automatic is available for the Huracán.

In an emergency stopping situation, many drivers don’t press the brakes with enough force to stop the vehicle in the shortest distance. The NSX has a standard brake assist system to detect emergency braking situations (by how hard and how quickly the brake pedal is pressed) and then automatically apply maximum braking immediately in order to help prevent a collision. The Huracán doesn’t offer a brake assist feature.

The NSX stops shorter than the Huracán:

The NSX’s 305/30R20 rear tires provide better handling because they have a lower 30 series profile (height to width ratio) that provides a stiffer sidewall than the Huracán’s standard 35 series tires.

For better ride, handling and brake cooling the NSX has standard 20-inch rear wheels. Smaller 19-inch wheels are standard on the Huracán.

The NSX has a standard easy tire fill system. When inflating the tires, the vehicle’s integrated tire pressure sensors keep track of the pressure as the tires fill and tell the driver when the tires are inflated to the proper pressure. The Huracán doesn’t offer vehicle monitored tire inflation.

The NSX uses computer-generated active noise cancellation to help remove annoying noise and vibration from the passenger compartment, especially at low frequencies. The Huracán doesn’t offer active noise cancellation.

The NSX has a larger trunk than the Huracán Coupe (3.9 vs. 3.5 cubic feet).

A Maintenance Minder is standard on the NSX to save the owner time and money by calculating maintenance intervals for oil changes and transmission fluid replacement based on actual driving conditions. This takes the guesswork out of keeping your vehicle in top condition and helps it last longer. Lamborghini doesn’t offer a maintenance reminder on the Huracán.

The NSX’s standard power windows have a locking feature to keep children from operating them. Lamborghini does not offer a locking feature on the Huracán’s standard power windows.

The NSX’s front power windows open or close with one touch of the switches, making it more convenient at drive-up windows and toll booths, or when talking with someone outside of the car. The Huracán’s power windows’ switches have to be held the entire time to close them fully.

The NSX’s rain-sensitive wipers adjust their speed and turn on and off automatically based on the amount of rainfall on the windshield. This allows the driver to concentrate on driving without constantly adjusting the wipers. The Huracán’s manually variable intermittent wipers have to be constantly adjusted.

While driving with high beams on, sensitive light sensors standard on the NSX detect other vehicles which could be blinded and automatically switch to low beams. The Huracán doesn’t offer automatic dimming high beams.

To help keep the driver’s hands on the wheel, the NSX has standard steering wheel controls for the radio. The Huracán doesn’t offer steering wheel audio controls.

The NSX was chosen as one of Automobile Magazine’s “All Stars” in 2017. The Huracán hasn’t been picked since 2015.
