Compare the2022 Toyota SupraVS 2021 Infiniti Q60

The Toyota Supra has standard driver and front passenger side knee airbags mounted low on the dashboard. These airbags helps prevent the driver and front passenger from sliding under their seatbelts or the main frontal airbags; this keeps them better positioned during a collision for maximum protection. Knee airbags also help keep the legs from striking the dashboard, preventing knee and leg injuries in the case of a serious frontal collision. The Q60 doesn’t offer knee airbags.

The Supra’s driver alert monitor detects an inattentive driver then sounds a warning and suggests a break. According to the NHTSA, drivers who fall asleep cause about 100,000 crashes and 1500 deaths a year. The Q60 doesn’t offer a driver alert monitor.

Both the Supra and the Q60 have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, side-impact head airbags, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, daytime running lights, rearview cameras, available blind spot warning systems, rear parking sensors and rear cross-path warning.

Toyota pays for scheduled maintenance on the Supra for 2 years and 25000 miles. Toyota will pay for oil changes, lubrication and any other required maintenance. Infiniti doesn’t pay scheduled maintenance for the Q60.

There are over 6 times as many Toyota dealers as there are Infiniti dealers, which makes it much easier should you ever need service under the Supra’s warranty.

J.D. Power and Associates’ 2021 Initial Quality Study of new car owners surveyed provide the statistics that show that Toyota vehicles are better in initial quality than Infiniti vehicles. J.D. Power ranks Toyota 13th in initial quality, above the industry average. With 13 more problems per 100 vehicles, Infiniti is ranked 21st, below the industry average.

J.D. Power and Associates’ 2021 survey of the owners of three-year-old vehicles provides the long-term dependability statistics that show that Toyota vehicles are more reliable than Infiniti vehicles. J.D. Power ranks Toyota fourth in reliability, above the industry average. With 39 more problems per 100 vehicles, Infiniti is ranked 23rd.

From surveys of all its subscribers, Consumer Reports’ January 2021 Auto Issue reports that Toyota vehicles are more reliable than Infiniti vehicles. Consumer Reports ranks Toyota second in reliability. Infiniti is ranked 11th.

The Supra’s optional 3.0 turbo 6-cylinder produces 18 lbs.-ft. more torque (368 vs. 350) than the Q60 Red Sport 400’s standard 3.0 turbo V6.

In heavy traffic or at stop lights the Supra’s engine automatically turns off when the vehicle is stopped, saving fuel and reducing pollution. The engine is automatically restarted when the driver gets ready to move again. If the conditions warrant or the driver wishes, the system can be manually disabled at any time for the duration of a trip with its optional disable switch. The Q60 doesn’t offer an automatic engine start/stop system.

In its Green Vehicle Guide, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) rates the Toyota Supra higher (5 to 7 out of 10) than the Infiniti Q60 (3). This means the Supra produces up to 24.5 pounds less smog-producing pollutants than the Q60 every 15,000 miles.

An eight-speed automatic is available on the Toyota Supra, for better acceleration and lower engine speed on the highway. Only a seven-speed automatic is available for the Q60.

The Supra’s launch control uses engine electronics to hold engine RPM’s precisely in order to provide the most stable and rapid acceleration possible, using all of the available traction. The Q60 doesn’t offer launch control.

The Supra’s front to rear weight distribution is more even (51.5% to 48.5%) than the Q60’s (55% to 45%). This gives the Supra more stable handling and braking.

The Supra 3.0 Premium handles at 1.07 G’s, while the Q60 Red Sport 400 AWD pulls only .88 G’s of cornering force in a Car and Driver skidpad test.

The Supra executes Motor Trend’s “Figure Eight” maneuver 1.6 seconds quicker than the Q60 Red Sport 400 (23.9 seconds @ .84 average G’s vs. 25.5 seconds @ .76 average G’s).

For better maneuverability, the Supra’s turning circle is 2.6 feet tighter than the Q60’s (34.1 feet vs. 36.7 feet). The Supra’s turning circle is 4 feet tighter than the Q60 AWD’s (34.1 feet vs. 38.1 feet).

The Toyota Supra may be more efficient, handle and accelerate better because it weighs about 550 to 650 pounds less than the Infiniti Q60.

The Supra is 11.9 inches shorter than the Q60, making the Supra easier to handle, maneuver and park in tight spaces.

The Supra has .4 inches more front headroom and .3 inches more front hip room than the Q60.

The Supra has a much larger trunk than the Q60 (10.2 vs. 8.7 cubic feet).

The Supra 3.0 Premium has a standard heads-up display that projects speed and warning readouts in front of the driver’s line of sight, allowing drivers to view information without diverting their eyes from the road. The Q60 doesn’t offer a heads-up display.

The Supra’s power parking brake sets with one touch and releases with one touch or automatically. The Q60’s parking brake has to released manually.

To quickly and conveniently keep personal devices charged without cables tangling and wearing out, the Toyota Supra 3.0 Premium/A91-CF Edition has a standard wireless phone charging system (Qi) in the center console. The Q60 doesn’t offer wireless personal charging.
