For enhanced safety, the front and middle seat shoulder belts of the Chrysler Voyager are height-adjustable to accommodate a wide variety of driver and passenger heights. A better fit can prevent injuries and the increased comfort also encourages passengers to buckle up. The Kia Carnival doesn’t offer height-adjustable middle seat belts.

The Chrysler Voyager has standard driver and front passenger side knee airbags mounted low on the dashboard. These airbags helps prevent the driver and front passenger from sliding under their seatbelts or the main frontal airbags; this keeps them better positioned during a collision for maximum protection. Knee airbags also help keep the legs from striking the dashboard, preventing knee and leg injuries in the case of a serious frontal collision. The Carnival doesn’t offer a front passenger side knee airbag.

Both the Voyager and the Carnival have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, driver knee airbags, side-impact head airbags, front seatbelt pretensioners, front wheel drive, height adjustable front shoulder belts, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, daytime running lights, rearview cameras, available crash mitigating brakes, blind spot warning systems, rear parking sensors and rear cross-path warning.

The Voyager’s 5 year corrosion warranty has no mileage limitations, but the corrosion warranty on the Carnival runs out after 100,000 miles.

There are over 3 times as many Chrysler dealers as there are Kia dealers, which makes it much easier should you ever need service under the Voyager’s warranty.

To reliably start during all conditions and help handle large electrical loads, the Voyager has a 730-amp battery. The Carnival only offers a standard 660-amp battery.

On the EPA test cycle the Voyager gets better fuel mileage than the Carnival (19 city/28 hwy vs. 19 city/26 hwy).

In heavy traffic or at stoplights the Voyager’s engine automatically turns off when the vehicle is stopped, saving fuel and reducing pollution. The engine is automatically restarted when the driver gets ready to move again. If the conditions warrant or the driver wishes, the system can be manually disabled at any time for the duration of a trip. The Carnival doesn’t offer an automatic engine start/stop system.

A nine-speed automatic is standard on the Chrysler Voyager, for better acceleration and lower engine speed on the highway. Only an eight-speed automatic is available for the Carnival.

For excellent aerodynamics, the Voyager has standard flush composite headlights. The Carnival has recessed headlights that spoil its aerodynamic shape and create extra drag.

The Voyager uses computer-generated active noise cancellation to help remove annoying noise and vibration from the passenger compartment, especially at low frequencies. The Carnival doesn’t offer active noise cancellation.

The Voyager has .1 inches more rear headroom, .1 inches more third row headroom, .9 inches more third row legroom and 1.7 inches more third row shoulder room than the Carnival.

The Voyager’s cargo area provides more volume than the Carnival.

The Voyager has standard Stow ’n Go second and third row seats, which fold flat into the floor. This completely clears a very large cargo area quickly. The Carnival only has a third row seat which folds into the floor. The Carnival’s second row seat has to be removed for maximum cargo room.

A standard locking glovebox (which can’t be accessed with the valet key) keeps your small valuables safer in the Voyager. The Carnival doesn’t offer locking storage for small valuables.

The Voyager’s standard towing capacity is much higher than the Carnival’s (3600 vs. 3500 pounds).

The Voyager has a standard remote vehicle starting system, so the vehicle can be started from inside the driver's house. This allows the driver to comfortably warm up the engine before going out to the vehicle. The Carnival doesn’t offer a remote starting system.

The Voyager’s instruments include an oil pressure gauge and a temperature gauge - which could save your engine! Often ‘idiot lights’ don’t warn you until damage has been done. The Carnival does not have an oil pressure gauge.

The Voyager’s front power windows lower with one touch of the switches, making it more convenient at drive-up windows and toll booths, or when talking with someone outside of the car. The Carnival’s standard power windows’ passenger windows don’t open automatically.

The Voyager has a standard heated steering wheel to take the chill out of steering on extremely cold winter days before the vehicle heater warms up. A heated steering wheel is only available on the Carnival Prestige.

The Voyager has a standard dual zone air conditioning allows the driver and front passenger to choose two completely different temperatures so people with different temperature preferences won’t have to compromise. This makes both the driver and front passenger as comfortable as possible. Dual zone air conditioning is only available on the Carnival EX/SX/Prestige.
