Compare the2022 Chrysler 300VS 2021 Maserati Quattroporte

The Chrysler 300 has a standard driver’s side knee airbag mounted low on the dashboard. The knee airbag helps prevent the driver from sliding under the seatbelts or the main frontal airbag; this keeps the driver better positioned during a collision for maximum protection. A knee airbag also helps keep the legs from striking the dashboard, preventing knee and leg injuries in the case of a serious frontal collision. The Quattroporte doesn’t offer knee airbags.

Both the 300 and the Quattroporte have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, side-impact head airbags, front seatbelt pretensioners, height adjustable front shoulder belts, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, daytime running lights, rearview cameras, available all wheel drive, crash mitigating brakes, lane departure warning systems, blind spot warning systems, rear parking sensors and rear cross-path warning.

Chrysler’s powertrain warranty covers the 300 1 year and 10,000 miles longer than Maserati covers the Quattroporte. Any repair needed on the engine, transmission, axles, joints or driveshafts is fully covered for 5 years or 60,000 miles. Coverage on the Quattroporte ends after only 4 years or 50,000 miles.

The 300’s corrosion warranty is 1 year and unlimited miles longer than the Quattroporte’s (5/unlimited vs. 4/50,000).

There are almost 21 times as many Chrysler dealers as there are Maserati dealers, which makes it much easier should you ever need service under the 300’s warranty.

A reliable vehicle saves its owner time, money and trouble. Nobody wants to be stranded or have to be without a vehicle while it’s being repaired. Consumer Reports rates the 300’s reliability 63 points higher than the Quattroporte.

J.D. Power and Associates rated the 300 second among large cars in their 2021 Initial Quality Study. The Quattroporte isn’t in the top three in its category.

On the EPA test cycle the 300 gets better mileage than the Quattroporte:

An engine control system that can shut down some of the engine’s cylinders helps improve the 300 V8’s fuel efficiency. The Quattroporte doesn’t offer a system that can shut down part of the engine.

To lower fuel costs and make buying fuel easier, the Chrysler 300 uses regular unleaded gasoline (mid-grade octane recommended with the 5.7 V8 engine for maximum performance). The Quattroporte requires premium, which can cost 5 to 40 cents more per gallon.

In its Green Vehicle Guide, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) rates the Chrysler 300 higher (3 out of 10) than the Maserati Quattroporte (1 to 3). This means the 300 produces up to 22.5 pounds less smog-producing pollutants than the Quattroporte every 15,000 miles.

For better maneuverability, the 300’s turning circle is 1.3 feet tighter than the Quattroporte’s (37.4 feet vs. 38.7 feet).

The 300 is 8.6 inches shorter than the Quattroporte, making the 300 easier to handle, maneuver and park in tight spaces.

The 300 has .1 inches more rear headroom and 2.4 inches more rear shoulder room than the Quattroporte.

Standard Trailer Sway Mitigation on the 300 uses the Electronic Stability Control sensors to detect trailer sway, then uses individual brakes to counteract any swaying and help keep the tow vehicle and trailer steady. The Quattroporte doesn’t offer electronic trailer sway control.

To shield the driver and front passenger’s vision over a larger portion of the windshield and side windows, the 300 has standard extendable sun visors. The Quattroporte doesn’t offer extendable visors.
