Compare the2022 Chrysler 300VS 2021 Jaguar XF

For enhanced safety, the front seat shoulder belts of the Chrysler 300 are height-adjustable to accommodate a wide variety of driver and passenger heights. A better fit can prevent injuries and the increased comfort also encourages passengers to buckle up. The Jaguar XF doesn’t offer height-adjustable seat belts.

The Chrysler 300 has a standard driver’s side knee airbag mounted low on the dashboard. The knee airbag helps prevent the driver from sliding under the seatbelts or the main frontal airbag; this keeps the driver better positioned during a collision for maximum protection. A knee airbag also helps keep the legs from striking the dashboard, preventing knee and leg injuries in the case of a serious frontal collision. The XF doesn’t offer knee airbags.

The 300 has standard Active Head Restraints, which use a specially designed headrest to protect the driver and front passenger from whiplash. During a rear-end collision, the Active Head Restraints system moves the headrests forward to prevent neck and spine injuries. The XF doesn’t offer a whiplash protection system.

Both the 300 and the XF have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, side-impact head airbags, front seatbelt pretensioners, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, daytime running lights, rearview cameras, available all wheel drive, crash mitigating brakes, lane departure warning systems, blind spot warning systems, rear parking sensors and rear cross-path warning.

There are over 13 times as many Chrysler dealers as there are Jaguar dealers, which makes it much easier should you ever need service under the 300’s warranty.

A reliable vehicle saves its owner time, money and trouble. Nobody wants to be stranded or have to be without a vehicle while it’s being repaired. Consumer Reports rates the 300’s reliability 43 points higher than the XF.

J.D. Power and Associates rated the 300 second among large cars in their 2021 Initial Quality Study. The XF isn’t in the top three in its category.

J.D. Power and Associates’ 2021 survey of the owners of three-year-old vehicles provides the long-term dependability statistics that show that Chrysler vehicles are more reliable than Jaguar vehicles. J.D. Power ranks Chrysler 29th in reliability. With 20 more problems per 100 vehicles, Jaguar is ranked 31st.

The 300 has more powerful engines than the XF:

An engine control system that can shut down some of the engine’s cylinders helps improve the 300 V8’s fuel efficiency. The XF doesn’t offer a system that can shut down part of the engine.

To lower fuel costs and make buying fuel easier, the Chrysler 300 uses regular unleaded gasoline (mid-grade octane recommended with the 5.7 V8 engine for maximum performance). The XF requires premium, which can cost 5 to 40 cents more per gallon.

The 300 has a standard cap-less fueling system. The fuel filler is automatically opened when the fuel nozzle is inserted and automatically closed when it’s removed. This eliminates the need to unscrew and replace the cap and it reduces fuel evaporation, which causes pollution. The XF doesn’t offer a cap-less fueling system.

For a smoother ride and more stable handling, the 300’s wheelbase is 3.5 inches longer than on the XF (120 inches vs. 116.5 inches).

For better maneuverability, the 300’s turning circle is .8 feet tighter than the XF’s (37.4 feet vs. 38.2 feet).

Because it has more passenger and cargo room, the EPA rates the 300 a Large car, while the XF is rated a Compact.

The 300 has 11.3 cubic feet more passenger volume than the XF (106.3 vs. 95).

The 300 has 1.1 inches more front headroom, .3 inches more front legroom, 2.6 inches more front shoulder room, 2.4 inches more rear legroom and 1.3 inches more rear shoulder room than the XF.

The 300 has a much larger trunk than the XF Sedan (16.3 vs. 10.1 cubic feet).

The 300 has a 1000 lbs. towing capacity. The XF has no towing capacity.

The 300 has a standard locking fuel door with a remote release located convenient to the driver. A locking fuel door helps prevent fuel theft and vandalism, such as sugar in the tank. The XF doesn’t offer a locking fuel door.

Heated windshield washer nozzles are standard on the 300 to prevent washer fluid and nozzles from freezing and help continue to keep the windshield clear in sub-freezing temperatures. Heated windshield washer nozzles cost extra on the XF.

To help drivers see further while navigating curves, the 300 Touring L/S offers optional adaptive headlights to illuminate around corners automatically by reading vehicle speed and steering wheel angle. The XF doesn’t offer cornering lights.

To shield the driver and front passenger’s vision over a larger portion of the windshield and side windows, the 300 has standard extendable sun visors. The XF doesn’t offer extendable visors.
