Both the Range Rover Evoque and NX Series have child safety locks to prevent children from opening the rear doors. The NX Series’ child locks have to be individually engaged at each rear door with a manual switch. The driver can’t know the status of the locks without opening the doors and checking them.

The Land Rover Range Rover Evoque has standard driver and front passenger side knee airbags mounted low on the dashboard. These airbags helps prevent the driver and front passenger from sliding under their seatbelts or the main frontal airbags; this keeps them better positioned during a collision for maximum protection. Knee airbags also help keep the legs from striking the dashboard, preventing knee and leg injuries in the case of a serious frontal collision. The NX Series doesn’t offer a front passenger side knee airbag.

The Range Rover Evoque’s 2.0 turbo 4-cylinder produces 11 more horsepower (246 vs. 235) and 11 lbs.-ft. more torque (269 vs. 258) than the NX 300’s standard 2.0 turbo 4-cylinder. The Range Rover Evoque R-Dynamic HST’s standard 2.0 turbo 4-cylinder produces 61 more horsepower (296 vs. 235) and 37 lbs.-ft. more torque (295 vs. 258) than the NX 300’s standard 2.0 turbo 4-cylinder.

The Range Rover Evoque has 2.9 gallons more fuel capacity than the NX Series Hybrid’s standard fuel tank (17.7 vs. 14.8 gallons), for longer range between fill-ups. The Range Rover Evoque has 1.8 gallons more fuel capacity than the NX Series’ standard fuel tank (17.7 vs. 15.9 gallons).

In its Green Vehicle Guide, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) rates the Land Rover Range Rover Evoque higher (7 out of 10) than the Lexus NX Series (3 to 7). This means the Range Rover Evoque produces up to 24.5 pounds less smog-producing pollutants than the NX Series every 15,000 miles.

A nine-speed automatic is standard on the Land Rover Range Rover Evoque, for better acceleration and lower engine speed on the highway. Only a six-speed automatic is available for the NX Series.

This allows the driver to concentrate on driving without constantly adjusting the wipers. The NX Series’ standard manually variable intermittent wipers have to be constantly adjusted.

Heated windshield washer nozzles are optional on the Range Rover Evoque to prevent washer fluid and nozzles from freezing and help continue to keep the windshield clear in sub-freezing temperatures. The NX Series doesn’t offer heated windshield washer nozzles.

In poor weather, headlights can lose their effectiveness as grime builds up on their lenses. This can reduce visibility without the driver realizing. The Range Rover Evoque offers available headlight washers to keep headlight output high. The NX Series doesn’t offer headlight washers.

The Range Rover Evoque has standard heated front seats. Heated front seats cost extra on the NX Series. The Range Rover Evoque also offers optional heated rear seats to keep those passengers extremely comfortable in the winter. Heated rear seats aren’t available in the NX Series.

To quickly and conveniently keep personal devices charged without cables tangling and wearing out, the Land Rover Range Rover Evoque has a standard wireless phone charging system (Qi) in the center console. The NX Series doesn’t offer wireless personal charging.

The Range Rover Evoque’s optional Park Assist can parallel park or back into a parking spot by itself, with the driver only controlling speed with the brake pedal. The NX Series doesn’t offer an automated parking system.

According to The Car Book by Jack Gillis, the Range Rover Evoque is less expensive to operate than the NX Series because it costs $581 less to do the manufacturer’s suggested maintenance for 50,000 miles. Typical repairs cost much less on the Range Rover Evoque than the NX Series, including $236 less for a water pump, $117 less for a muffler, $68 less for fuel injection, $711 less for a timing belt/chain and $135 less for a power steering pump.
