Both the Range Rover Evoque and UX Series have child safety locks to prevent children from opening the rear doors. The Range Rover Evoque has power child safety locks, allowing the driver to activate and deactivate them from the driver's seat and to know when they're engaged. The UX Series’ child locks have to be individually engaged at each rear door with a manual switch. The driver can’t know the status of the locks without opening the doors and checking them.

To provide maximum traction and stability on all roads, All-Wheel Drive is standard on the Range Rover Evoque. But it costs extra on the UX Series.

The Range Rover Evoque offers an optional 3D Surround Camera to allow the driver to see objects all around the vehicle on a screen. The UX Series only offers a rear monitor and front and rear parking sensors that beep or flash a light. That doesn’t help with obstacles to the sides.

Both the Range Rover Evoque and the UX Series have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, driver and front passenger knee airbags, side-impact head airbags, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, crash mitigating brakes, daytime running lights, lane departure warning systems, rearview cameras, driver alert monitors, available blind spot warning systems and rear cross-path warning.

The Range Rover Evoque’s standard 2.0 turbo 4-cylinder produces 77 more horsepower (246 vs. 169) and 118 lbs.-ft. more torque (269 vs. 151) than the UX 200’s standard 2.0 DOHC 4-cylinder. The Range Rover Evoque’s 2.0 turbo 4-cylinder produces 65 more horsepower (246 vs. 181) than the UX 250h’s standard 2.0 DOHC 4-cylinder hybrid. The Range Rover Evoque R-Dynamic HST’s standard 2.0 turbo 4-cylinder produces 115 more horsepower (296 vs. 181) than the UX 250h’s standard 2.0 DOHC 4-cylinder hybrid.

Regardless of its engine, regenerative brakes improve the Range Rover Evoque’s fuel efficiency by converting inertia back into energy instead of wasting it. Lexus only offers a regenerative brake system on the UX Series Hybrid.

Regardless of its engine, the Range Rover Evoque’s engine automatically turns off when the vehicle is stopped, saving fuel and reducing pollution. Lexus only offers an automatic engine start/stop system on the UX Series Hybrid.

The Range Rover Evoque has 7.1 gallons more fuel capacity than the UX Series Hybrid’s standard fuel tank (17.7 vs. 10.6 gallons), for longer range between fill-ups. The Range Rover Evoque has 5.3 gallons more fuel capacity than the UX Series’ standard fuel tank (17.7 vs. 12.4 gallons).

In its Green Vehicle Guide, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) rates the Land Rover Range Rover Evoque higher (7 out of 10) than the Lexus UX Series (6 to 7). This means the Range Rover Evoque produces up to 1.1 pounds less smog-producing pollutants than the UX Series every 15,000 miles.

For better traction, the Range Rover Evoque has larger standard tires than the UX Series (235/60R18 vs. 225/50R18). The Range Rover Evoque’s optional tires are larger than the largest tires available on the UX Series (245/45R21 vs. 225/50R18).

The Range Rover Evoque’s optional tires provide better handling because they have a lower 45 series profile (height to width ratio) that provides a stiffer sidewall than the UX Series’ 50 series tires.

For better ride, handling and brake cooling the Range Rover Evoque offers optional 21-inch wheels. The UX Series’ largest wheels are only 18-inches.

The Range Rover Evoque has a standard space-saver spare tire so you can replace a flat tire and drive to have the flat repaired or replaced. A spare tire isn’t available on the UX Series; it requires you to depend on its run-flat tires, which limits mileage and speed before they are repaired. If a run-flat is damaged beyond repair by a road hazard your vehicle will have to be towed.

The Range Rover Evoque offers an optional driver-adjustable suspension system. It allows the driver to choose between an extra-supple ride, reducing fatigue on long trips, or a sport setting, which allows maximum control for tricky roads or off-road. The UX Series’ suspension doesn’t offer adjustable shock absorbers.

For a smoother ride and more stable handling, the Range Rover Evoque’s wheelbase is 1.6 inches longer than on the UX Series (105.5 inches vs. 103.9 inches).

For better handling and stability, the track (width between the wheels) on the Range Rover Evoque is 3 inches wider in the front and 3.3 inches wider in the rear than on the UX Series.

The Range Rover Evoque uses gas struts to support the hood for easier service access. The UX Series uses a prop rod to support its heavy hood. It takes two hands to open the hood and set the prop rod, the prop rod gets in the way during maintenance and service, and the prop rod could be knocked out, causing the heavy hood to fall on the person maintaining or servicing the car.

Unlike the driver-only memory seat and mirrors optional in the UX Series, the Range Rover Evoque offers an optional driver and passenger memory, so that when drivers switch, the memory setting adjusts the driver’s seat, steering wheel position and outside mirror angle and the front passenger seat also adjusts to the new passenger’s preset preferences.

The power windows standard on both the Range Rover Evoque and the UX Series have locks to prevent small children from operating them. When the lock on the Range Rover Evoque is engaged the driver can still operate all of the windows, for instance to close one opened by a child. The UX Series prevents the driver from operating the other windows just as it does the other passengers.

The Range Rover Evoque’s rain-sensitive wipers adjust their speed and turn on and off automatically based on the amount of rainfall on the windshield. This allows the driver to concentrate on driving without constantly adjusting the wipers. The UX Series’ standard manually variable intermittent wipers have to be constantly adjusted.

Heated windshield washer nozzles are optional on the Range Rover Evoque to prevent washer fluid and nozzles from freezing and help continue to keep the windshield clear in sub-freezing temperatures. The UX Series doesn’t offer heated windshield washer nozzles.

The Range Rover Evoque has standard heated front seats. Heated front seats cost extra on the UX Series. The Range Rover Evoque also offers optional heated rear seats to keep those passengers extremely comfortable in the winter. Heated rear seats aren’t available in the UX Series.

To quickly and conveniently keep personal devices charged without cables tangling and wearing out, the Land Rover Range Rover Evoque has a standard wireless phone charging system (Qi) in the center console. Wireless charging costs extra on the UX Series.

The Range Rover Evoque’s optional Park Assist can parallel park or back into a parking spot by itself, with the driver only controlling speed with the brake pedal. The UX Series doesn’t offer an automated parking system.
