Both the Range Rover Evoque and Nautilus have child safety locks to prevent children from opening the rear doors. The Range Rover Evoque has power child safety locks, allowing the driver to activate and deactivate them from the driver's seat and to know when they're engaged. The Nautilus’ child locks have to be individually engaged at each rear door with a manual switch. The driver can’t know the status of the locks without opening the doors and checking them.

To provide maximum traction and stability on all roads, All-Wheel Drive is standard on the Range Rover Evoque. But it costs extra on the Nautilus.

The Range Rover Evoque’s driver alert monitor detects an inattentive driver then sounds a warning and suggests a break. According to the NHTSA, drivers who fall asleep cause about 100,000 crashes and 1500 deaths a year. The Nautilus doesn’t offer a driver alert monitor.

Both the Range Rover Evoque and the Nautilus have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, driver and front passenger knee airbags, side-impact head airbags, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, crash mitigating brakes, daytime running lights, lane departure warning systems, rearview cameras, available blind spot warning systems, around view monitors and rear cross-path warning.

The Range Rover Evoque’s corrosion warranty is 1 year longer than the Nautilus’ (6 vs. 5 years).

The Range Rover Evoque R-Dynamic HST’s standard 2.0 turbo 4-cylinder produces 46 more horsepower (296 vs. 250) and 15 lbs.-ft. more torque (295 vs. 280) than the Nautilus’ standard 2.0 turbo 4-cylinder.

On the EPA test cycle the Range Rover Evoque gets better mileage than the Nautilus:

Regenerative brakes improve the Range Rover Evoque’s fuel efficiency by converting inertia back into energy instead of wasting it. The Nautilus doesn’t offer a regenerative braking system.

In its Green Vehicle Guide, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) rates the Land Rover Range Rover Evoque higher (7 out of 10) than the Lincoln Nautilus (5). This means the Range Rover Evoque produces up to 8 pounds less smog-producing pollutants than the Nautilus every 15,000 miles.

A nine-speed automatic is standard on the Land Rover Range Rover Evoque, for better acceleration and lower engine speed on the highway. Only an eight-speed automatic is available for the Nautilus.

For better maneuverability, the Range Rover Evoque’s turning circle is 1.3 feet tighter than the Nautilus’ (38 feet vs. 39.3 feet).

The Land Rover Range Rover Evoque may be more efficient, handle and accelerate better because it weighs about 250 to 450 pounds less than the Lincoln Nautilus.

The Range Rover Evoque is 1 foot, 5.9 inches shorter than the Nautilus, making the Range Rover Evoque easier to handle, maneuver and park in tight spaces.

A low lift-over cargo hatch design makes loading and unloading the Range Rover Evoque easier. The Range Rover Evoque’s cargo hatch lift-over height is 28.7 inches, while the Nautilus’ liftover is 30 inches.

The Range Rover Evoque’s standard towing capacity is much higher than the Nautilus’ (3968 vs. 2000 pounds).

Unlike the driver-only memory system in the Nautilus, the Range Rover Evoque offers an optional driver and passenger memory, so that when drivers switch, the memory setting adjusts the driver’s seat, steering wheel position and outside mirror angle and the front passenger seat also adjusts to the new passenger’s preset preferences.

The Range Rover Evoque offers an optional heads-up display that projects speed and navigation instruction readouts in front of the driver’s line of sight, allowing drivers to view information without diverting their eyes from the road. The Nautilus doesn’t offer a heads-up display.

The power windows standard on both the Range Rover Evoque and the Nautilus have locks to prevent small children from operating them. When the lock on the Range Rover Evoque is engaged the driver can still operate all of the windows, for instance to close one opened by a child. The Nautilus prevents the driver from operating the rear windows just as it does the other passengers.

The Range Rover Evoque’s rain-sensitive wipers adjust their speed and turn on and off automatically based on the amount of rainfall on the windshield. This allows the driver to concentrate on driving without constantly adjusting the wipers. The Nautilus’ standard manually variable intermittent wipers have to be constantly adjusted.

Heated windshield washer nozzles are optional on the Range Rover Evoque to prevent washer fluid and nozzles from freezing and help continue to keep the windshield clear in sub-freezing temperatures. The Nautilus doesn’t offer heated windshield washer nozzles.

To improve rear visibility by keeping the rear window clear, the Range Rover Evoque has a standard rear fixed intermittent wiper with a full on position. The rear wiper standard on the Nautilus only has an intermittent setting, so in a hard rain visibility isn’t as good.

In poor weather, headlights can lose their effectiveness as grime builds up on their lenses. This can reduce visibility without the driver realizing. The Range Rover Evoque offers available headlight washers to keep headlight output high. The Nautilus doesn’t offer headlight washers.

When the Range Rover Evoque with available tilt-down mirrors is put in reverse, both rearview mirrors tilt from their original position. This gives the driver a better view of the curb during parallel parking maneuvers. Shifting out of reverse puts the mirrors into their original positions. The Nautilus’ mirrors don’t automatically adjust for backing.

To quickly and conveniently keep personal devices charged without cables tangling and wearing out, the Land Rover Range Rover Evoque has a standard wireless phone charging system (Qi) in the center console. Only the Nautilus Reserve/Black Label offers wireless charging.

Insurance will cost less for the Range Rover Evoque owner. The Car Book by Jack Gillis rates the Range Rover Evoque with a number “3” insurance rate while the Nautilus is rated higher at a number “10” rate.

The Range Rover Evoque will cost the buyer less in the long run because of its superior resale value. The IntelliChoice estimates that the Range Rover Evoque will retain 48.01% to 48.13% of its original price after five years, while the Nautilus only retains 35.03% to 40.81%.

According to The Car Book by Jack Gillis, the Range Rover Evoque is less expensive to operate than the Nautilus because typical repairs cost much less on the Range Rover Evoque than the Nautilus, including $200 less for a water pump, $387 less for a timing belt/chain and $652 less for a power steering pump.
