The Land Rover Range Rover Evoque has standard driver and front passenger side knee airbags mounted low on the dashboard. These airbags helps prevent the driver and front passenger from sliding under their seatbelts or the main frontal airbags; this keeps them better positioned during a collision for maximum protection. Knee airbags also help keep the legs from striking the dashboard, preventing knee and leg injuries in the case of a serious frontal collision. The E-Pace doesn’t offer knee airbags.

Both the Range Rover Evoque and the E-Pace have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, side-impact head airbags, four-wheel antilock brakes, all wheel drive, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, crash mitigating brakes, daytime running lights, lane departure warning systems, rearview cameras, driver alert monitors, available blind spot warning systems, around view monitors and rear cross-path warning.

Engine

The Range Rover Evoque R-Dynamic HST’s standard 2.0 turbo 4-cylinder produces 50 more horsepower (296 vs. 246) and 26 lbs.-ft. more torque (295 vs. 269) than the E-Pace P250’s standard 2.0 turbo 4-cylinder.

Suspension and Handling

The Range Rover Evoque has standard front and rear gas-charged shocks for better control over choppy roads. The E-Pace’s suspension doesn’t offer gas-charged shocks.

The Range Rover Evoque R-Dynamic HST executes Motor Trend’s “Figure Eight” maneuver quicker than the E-Pace SE (27.9 seconds @ .63 average G’s vs. 28.4 seconds @ .6 average G’s).

For greater off-road capability the Range Rover Evoque has a greater minimum ground clearance than the E-Pace (8.3 vs. 8 inches), allowing the Range Rover Evoque to travel over rougher terrain without being stopped or damaged.

Passenger Space

The Range Rover Evoque has .5 inches more front headroom and .5 inches more front shoulder room than the E-Pace.

Cargo Capacity

The Range Rover Evoque has a larger cargo volume with its rear seat folded than the E-Pace with its rear seat folded (50.5 vs. 49.5 cubic feet).

Ergonomics

Unlike the driver-only memory system in the E-Pace, the Range Rover Evoque offers an optional driver and passenger memory, so that when drivers switch, the memory setting adjusts the driver’s seat, steering wheel position and outside mirror angle and the front passenger seat also adjusts to the new passenger’s preset preferences.

In poor weather, headlights can lose their effectiveness as grime builds up on their lenses. This can reduce visibility without the driver realizing. The Range Rover Evoque offers available headlight washers to keep headlight output high. The E-Pace doesn’t offer headlight washers.

Optional air-conditioned seats in the Range Rover Evoque SE/HST/R-Dynamic S keep the driver and front passenger comfortable and take the sting out of hot seats in Summer. The E-Pace doesn’t offer air-conditioned seats.

The Range Rover Evoque’s optional Park Assist can parallel park or back into a parking spot by itself, with the driver only controlling speed with the brake pedal. The E-Pace doesn’t offer an automated parking system.

Recommendations

The Land Rover Range Rover Evoque outsold the Jaguar E-Pace by almost three to one during the 2021 model year.
