The GV70’s pre-crash front seatbelts will tighten automatically in the event the vehicle detects an impending crash, improving protection against injury significantly. The Corsair doesn’t offer pre-crash pretensioners.

In the past twenty years hundreds of infants and young children have died after being left in vehicles, usually by accident. When turning the vehicle off, drivers of the GV70 are reminded to check the back seat when a sensor determines the back seat is occupied. The Corsair doesn’t offer a back seat reminder.

The GV70 has a standard front seat center airbag, which deploys between the driver and front passenger, protecting them from injuries caused by striking each other in serious side impacts. The Corsair doesn’t offer front seat center airbags.

Using vehicle speed sensors and seat sensors, smart airbags in the GV70 deploy with different levels of force or don’t deploy at all to help better protect passengers of all sizes in different collisions. The GV70’s side airbags will shut off if a child is leaning against the door. The Corsair’s airbags don’t have smart features and will always deploy full force.

To provide maximum traction and stability on all roads, All-Wheel Drive is standard on the GV70. But it costs extra on the Corsair.

When descending a steep, off-road slope, the GV70’s standard Hill Descent Control allows you to creep down safely. The Corsair doesn’t offer Hill Descent Control.

Both the GV70 and the Corsair have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, driver knee airbags, side-impact head airbags, height adjustable front shoulder belts, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, crash mitigating brakes, daytime running lights, lane departure warning systems, blind spot warning systems, rearview cameras, rear cross-path warning, driver alert monitors and available around view monitors.

The GV70 comes with a full 5-year/60,000-mile basic warranty, which covers the entire truck and includes free 24-hour roadside assistance. The Corsair’s 4-year/50,000-mile basic warranty expires 1 year or 10,000 miles sooner.

Genesis’ powertrain warranty covers the GV70 4 years and 30,000 miles longer than Lincoln covers the Corsair. Any repair needed on the engine, transmission, axles, joints or driveshafts is fully covered for 10 years or 100,000 miles. Coverage on the Corsair ends after only 6 years or 70,000 miles.

The GV70’s corrosion warranty is 2 years longer than the Corsair’s (7 vs. 5 years).

Genesis pays for scheduled maintenance on the GV70 for 3 years and 36,000 miles. Genesis will pay for oil changes, lubrication and any other required maintenance. Lincoln only pays for the first scheduled maintenance visit on the Corsair.

J.D. Power and Associates’ 2020 Initial Quality Study of new car owners surveyed provide the statistics that show that Genesis vehicles are better in initial quality than Lincoln vehicles. J.D. Power ranks Genesis fifth in initial quality, above the industry average. With 40 more problems per 100 vehicles, Lincoln is ranked 21st, below the industry average.

J.D. Power and Associates’ 2021 survey of the owners of three-year-old vehicles provides the long-term dependability statistics that show that Genesis vehicles are more reliable than Lincoln vehicles. J.D. Power ranks Genesis 8th in reliability, above the industry average. With 4 more problems per 100 vehicles, Lincoln is ranked 9th.

From surveys of all its subscribers, Consumer Reports’ January 2021 Auto Issue reports that Genesis vehicles are more reliable than Lincoln vehicles. Consumer Reports ranks Genesis 21 places higher in reliability than Lincoln.

The GV70’s standard 2.5 turbo 4-cylinder produces 50 more horsepower (300 vs. 250) and 31 lbs.-ft. more torque (311 vs. 280) than the Corsair’s standard 2.0 turbo 4-cylinder. The GV70’s 2.5 turbo 4-cylinder produces 5 more horsepower (300 vs. 295) and 1 lbs.-ft. more torque (311 vs. 310) than the Corsair’s optional 2.3 turbo 4-cylinder. The GV70’s optional 3.5 turbo V6 produces 80 more horsepower (375 vs. 295) and 81 lbs.-ft. more torque (391 vs. 310) than the Corsair’s optional 2.3 turbo 4-cylinder.

On the EPA test cycle the GV70 2.5 turbo 4-cylinder with its standard engine gets better fuel mileage than the Corsair 2.3 turbo 4-cylinder AWD (22 city/28 hwy vs. 21 city/28 hwy).

The GV70 has 1.2 gallons more fuel capacity than the Corsair (17.4 vs. 16.2 gallons), for longer range between fill-ups.

The GV70’s launch control uses engine electronics to hold engine RPM’s precisely in order to provide the most stable and rapid acceleration possible, using all of the available traction. The Corsair doesn’t offer launch control.

For better stopping power the GV70’s brake rotors are larger than those on the Corsair:

The GV70’s standard front and rear disc brakes are vented to help dissipate heat for shorter stops with less fading. The rear discs on the Corsair are solid, not vented.

For better traction, the GV70 has larger standard tires than the Corsair (235/60R18 vs. 225/60R18). The GV70 Sport Prestige’s optional tires are larger than the largest tires available on the Corsair (255/40R21 vs. 245/45R20).

The GV70 Sport Prestige’s optional tires provide better handling because they have a lower 40 series profile (height to width ratio) that provides a stiffer sidewall than the Corsair Reserve’s optional 45 series tires.

For better ride, handling and brake cooling the GV70 Sport Prestige offers optional 21-inch wheels. The Corsair’s largest wheels are only 20-inches.

The GV70 has standard front and rear gas-charged shocks for better control over choppy roads. The Corsair’s suspension doesn’t offer gas-charged shocks.

For a smoother ride and more stable handling, the GV70’s wheelbase is 6.5 inches longer than on the Corsair (113.2 inches vs. 106.7 inches).

For better handling and stability, the average track (width between the wheels) on the GV70 is 2.2 inches wider in the front and 2.1 inches wider in the rear than the track on the Corsair.

The engine in the GV70 is mounted longitudinally (North-South), instead of sideways, as in the Corsair. This makes it easier to service and maintain, because the accessory belts are in front.

The GV70’s rain-sensitive wipers adjust their speed and turn on and off automatically based on the amount of rainfall on the windshield. This allows the driver to concentrate on driving without constantly adjusting the wipers. The Corsair’s standard intermittent wipers change speed with vehicle speed, but can’t turn on and off or change speed based on changing rainfall.

Manual rear side window sunshades are available in the GV70 to help block heat and glare for the rear passengers. The Corsair doesn’t offer rear side window sunshades.

To quickly and conveniently keep personal devices charged without cables tangling and wearing out, the Genesis GV70 has a standard wireless phone charging system (Qi) in the center console. Only the Corsair Reserve offers wireless charging and it costs extra.

The GV70 Advanced/Sport Prestige’s Smart Parking Assist can parallel park or back into a parking spot by itself, starting, stopping and changing direction automatically. Remote Smart Parking Assist will park and retrieve your car remotely: press a button and watch it park itself. This is ideal for tight locations. The Corsair’s automatic parking system does not offer parking by remote control.
