In the past twenty years hundreds of infants and young children have died after being left in vehicles, usually by accident. When turning the vehicle off, drivers of the Bolt are reminded to check the back seat if they opened the rear door before starting out. The Revero doesn’t offer a back seat reminder.

The Bolt has standard Automatic Emergency Braking, which use forward mounted sensors to warn the driver of a possible collision ahead. If the driver doesn’t react and the system determines a collision is imminent, it automatically applies the brakes at full-force in order to reduce the force of the crash or avoid it altogether. The Revero has a collision warning system without the crash-mitigating brake feature that could reduce stopping distances.

The Bolt has standard OnStar®, which uses a global positioning satellite (GPS) receiver and a cellular system to get turn-by-turn driving directions, remotely unlock your doors if you lock your keys in, help track down your vehicle if it’s stolen or send emergency personnel to the scene if any airbags deploy. The Revero doesn’t offer a GPS response system, only a navigation computer with no live response for emergencies, so if you’re involved in an accident and you’re incapacitated help may not come as quickly.

Both the Bolt and the Revero have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, driver and front passenger knee airbags, side-impact head airbags, front seatbelt pretensioners, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, collision warning systems, daytime running lights, lane departure warning systems, rearview cameras, available blind spot warning systems, around view monitors and rear cross-path warning.

For its top level performance in IIHS driver-side small overlap frontal, moderate overlap frontal, side impact, rear impact and roof-crush tests, with its optional front crash prevention system, its “Acceptable” rating in the new passenger-side small overlap crash test, and its headlight’s “Acceptable” rating, the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety grants the Bolt the rating of “Top Pick” for 2019, a rating granted to only 160 vehicles tested by the IIHS. The Revero has not been tested, yet.

There are almost 133 times as many Chevrolet dealers as there are Karma dealers, which makes it much easier should you ever need service under the Bolt’s warranty.

The Bolt’s maximum EPA estimated driving range is 259 miles on a full charge. The Revero GT can only travel about 61 miles before it has to start its internal combustion engine.

In its Green Vehicle Guide, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) rates the Chevrolet Bolt higher (10 out of 10) than the Karma Revero (7). This means the Bolt produces up to 11.8 pounds less smog-producing pollutants than the Revero every 15,000 miles.

The Bolt has a standard easy tire fill system. When inflating the tires, the vehicle’s integrated tire pressure sensors keep track of the pressure as the tires fill and tell the driver when the tires are inflated to the proper pressure. The Revero doesn’t offer vehicle monitored tire inflation.

Having a flat tire is dangerous, inconvenient and expensive. The self-sealing tires standard on the Bolt can automatically seal most punctures up to 3/16 of an inch, effectively preventing most flat tires. The Revero doesn’t offer self-sealing tires.

For better maneuverability, the Bolt’s turning circle is 5.6 feet tighter than the Revero’s (34.8 feet vs. 40.4 feet).

The Chevrolet Bolt may be more efficient, handle and accelerate better because it weighs about 1450 pounds less than the Karma Revero.

The Bolt is 3 feet shorter than the Revero, making the Bolt easier to handle, maneuver and park in tight spaces.

The design of the Chevrolet Bolt amounts to more than styling. The Bolt has an aerodynamic coefficient of drag of .31 Cd. That is significantly lower than the Revero (.35) and many sports cars. A more efficient exterior helps keep the interior quieter and helps the Bolt get better fuel mileage.

The Bolt has standard seating for 5 passengers; the Revero can only carry 4.

The Bolt has a larger cargo volume with its rear seat up than the Revero (16.6 vs. 6.4 cubic feet).

To allow full utilization of available cargo room, the Bolt’s hatch uses gas strut supported hinges that don’t intrude into the cargo area. Its intrusive beam hinge reduces the Revero’s useful trunk space.

The Bolt has a standard remote vehicle starting system, so the vehicle can be started from inside the driver's house. This allows the driver to comfortably warm up the engine before going out to the vehicle. The climate system will also automatically heat or cool the interior. The Revero doesn’t offer a remote starting system.

The Bolt’s standard power window controls are mounted on the armrest for easy access. The Revero’s available power window controls are spread out on the center console where they can’t be seen without the driver completely removing his eyes from the road.

To improve rear visibility by keeping the rear window clear, the Bolt has a standard rear wiper. The Revero doesn’t offer a rear wiper.

While driving with high beams on, sensitive light sensors standard on the Bolt detect other vehicles which could be blinded and automatically switch to low beams. The Revero doesn’t offer automatic dimming high beams.

To keep a safe, consistent following distance, the Bolt offers an optional Adaptive Cruise Control, which alters the speed of the vehicle without driver intervention. This allows the driver to use cruise control more safely without constantly having to disengage it when approaching slower traffic. The Revero doesn’t offer an adaptive cruise control.

To quickly and conveniently keep personal devices charged without cables tangling and wearing out, the Chevrolet Bolt offers an optional wireless phone charging system (Qi) in the center console. The Revero doesn’t offer wireless personal charging.
