Reliability
J.D. Power and Associates’ 2016 survey of the owners of three-year-old vehicles provides the long-term dependability statistics that show that Infiniti vehicles are more reliable than Cadillac vehicles. Regenerative brakes improve the Q50 Hybrid’s fuel efficiency by converting inertia back into energy instead of wasting it. The CT6 doesn’t offer a regenerative braking system.

Tires and Wheels
The Q50 Red Sport 400’s 265/35R19 rear tires provide better handling because they have a lower 35 series profile (height to width ratio) that provides a stiffer sidewall than the CT6’s optional 40 series tires.
Changing a flat tire near traffic can be dangerous and inconvenient. The run-flat tires available on the Q50 can be driven up to 50 miles without any air pressure, allowing you to drive to a service station for a repair. The CT6 doesn’t offer run-flat tires.
Suspension and Handling
The Q50 handles at .95 G’s, while the CT6 pulls only .81 G’s of cornering force in a Car and Driver skidpad test.
The Q50 executes Motor Trend’s “Figure Eight” maneuver 1.2 seconds quicker than the CT6 (25.5 seconds @ .76 average G’s vs. 26.7 seconds @ .66 average G’s).
For better maneuverability, the Q50’s turning circle is 3.3 feet tighter than the CT6’s (36.7 feet vs. 40 feet). The Q50 AWD’s turning circle is 2.6 feet tighter than the CT6’s (37.4 feet vs. 40 feet).
Chassis
The Q50 is 1 foot, 2.4 inches shorter than the CT6, making the Q50 easier to handle, maneuver and park in tight spaces.
Passenger Space
The Q50 has .1 inches more front headroom and 2.1 inches more front legroom than the CT6.
Cargo Capacity
The Q50’s optional rear seats fold to accommodate long and bulky cargo. The CT6 doesn’t offer folding rear seats, only a ski pass-through.
A standard locking glovebox (which can’t be accessed with the valet key) keeps your small valuables safer in the Q50. The CT6 doesn’t offer locking storage for small valuables.
Ergonomics
If the windows are left down on the Q50 the driver can raise them all using the key in the outside lock cylinder. On a hot day the driver can lower the windows from outside the vehicle using the key in the outside lock cylinder or the keyless remote. The driver of the CT6 can only raise the windows from inside the vehicle, with the ignition on.
The Q50’s rain-sensitive wipers adjust their speed and turn on and off automatically based on the amount of rainfall on the windshield. This allows the driver to concentrate on driving without constantly adjusting the wipers. The CT6’s standard intermittent wipers change speed with vehicle speed, but can’t turn on and off or change speed based on changing rainfall.
The CT6 Luxury/Premium/Platinum’s cornering lamps activate a lamp on the front corner when the turn signal is activated. The Q50 Premium/Sport’s optional adaptive cornering lights turn the actual headlight unit up to several degrees, depending on steering wheel angle and vehicle speed. This lights a significant distance into corners at any speed.
